From Jenny Haberlin, Chief Business Official, RIMSD District Office
School District Budget
I wanted to share that on October 27, 2017, San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools (SBCSS) approved the Districts 2017-18 Budget. The 2017-18 LCAP was also approved. The district will continue to work towards fiscal health and will report an updated fiscal solvency plan to SBCSS with our First Interim Financial Report in December. We continue to work with all stakeholders on budget reductions to reduce our deficit spending. We thank all of those who are working hard to achieve a positive financial position.
The District is excited to open the bidding window for sale of 2 Crown School Buses. The proceeds from the sale of the buses will be used to repair other busses in our fleet. Information regarding these buses can be found on our website, https://www.rimsd.k12.ca.us/Page/1733.
RIMSD Risk Management
Thank you Risk Management team in your efforts on reviewing and updating the Districts Safety and Evacuation Plans. Thank you to our partners at CSRM (California Schools Risk Management) in helping us improve the safety of our staff and students.
From Lauren Tovar, Principal, Valley of Enchantment Elementary School
Valley of Enchantment Elementary School celebrated Red Ribbon Week from October 23-31, 2017. One of our culminating activities was “Plant the Promise” where every student was invited to plant a bulb in our gardens to represent their promise to make healthy lifestyle choices. Our hope is that in the spring when the bulbs bloom we will all be reminded of our choice to be drug free. Thank you so much to our PTA, recess supervisors, and volunteers for helping us make this possible.
