From Marlynn Humphries, Principal, Charles Hoffman Elementary School
When the news went out that Rim High Drama was performing a play and elementary students were invited to attend, Charles Hoffman third through fifth-grade students jumped at the chance to view the classic children’s literature piece, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. The story is set in an imaginary land with a witch, or a queen as she likes to be called, who had put a curse on the land so that it was always winter, with no chance of Christmas, so the story goes… When the snow started falling down on the students as they sat in their seats as the show began, there was no doubt that this would be an engaging production. RIM students knew their parts well, transitions were handled quickly, and costumes and sets gave an authentic feel. CHE commends the high school for a great choice and hopefully, many students pick up the series, The Chronicles of Narnia. One fourth grader, Elijah Sola, brought his pet lion and was thrilled to personally meet the star of the show, Aslan, played by Kyle Frey, and wear Edmund’s crown, played by David Borges.
When you see a snowplow this winter, you might do a double take of the blade with its colorful designs creatively done by CHE students!
