Our construction team is working diligently on the PAC (Performing Arts Center)/HVAC modernization. We are moving forward as planned, continuing demolition in preparation for equipment installation.

Recreation and Park District met with the ROWUSD team and received keys to Lake Gregory Educational Center. It was an exciting day as we are thrilled to begin this new venture with a partnership to benefit our community.

NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) and Collaborative Teacher Learning

As part of our eSTEM focus, Valley of Enchantment Elementary is committed to continuing to grow in our understanding and implementation of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).  This year we have had the opportunity to send Katie Nicholson, Jennifer Rungo-Senn, and Stephanie Plemons to county NGSS training.  At these trainings, our teachers have collaborated with other teachers and experts throughout San Bernardino County to improve their knowledge of the NGSS and design learning experiences for our students.

This week Ms. Nicholson, Ms. Senn, and Ms. Plemons presented their learning to the VOE teaching staff.  This was a collaborative learning experience that included inquiry-based activities, constructive collaborative conversations, hands-on problem solving, and an integration of literacy.  All teachers in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade discussed how they can incorporate these types of science learning activities into their classrooms.  Many of the teacher conversations focused on the student use of critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills that the NGSS require.  Thank you so much to our amazing presenters.  It was a valuable experience for all.
