CTE Graphic Design

  • This year-long Career Technical Education (CTE) course is designed to provide students with the fundamental skills and knowledge of modern design technology and practices needed for entry-level employment in the printing/graphic design industry or entrance into a Graphic Design field of study in a post-secondary school.  In an operational campus-based print shop, students learn the basics of graphic arts related to printing and graphic design. Students will produce printed material of their own design using industry standard software.  Because the classroom is located inside the district Print Shop, students will receive hands-on experience with cutting, binding, and other print shop related tools and procedures and will be expected to follow all safety rules. Students may be asked to help produce actual jobs for customers from several school sites and the District Office.

    Sample units of study include:

    • Photo Editing
    • Image Creation
    • Screen Printing
    • Desktop Publishing
    • 3D Design/Printing
    • Soft Skills
    • & Much More!
