RHS Welcome Back

August 2, 2019

Dear RHS Parents and Students,

We are elated to see the progress of the construction at the high school with all new stucco and paint outside, dual-paned windows, and five sets of completely new remodeled restrooms, but their deadline for finishing isn’t until December. The bulk of the work is taking place this summer so, unfortunately, we will NOT be holding our normal “Readiness Days” for sophomores, juniors, and seniors. They will receive their schedules in the morning of the first day of school in the gym and will receive their ID cards and their books during the first week of school while going into the library with their English classes. They will also be able to purchase an ASB card and other ASB related items at that time.

We would still like to invite our freshman to come to our Link Crew assembly and a “Readiness Day” on Monday, August 12th, from 1-3 pm since they are brand new to the school. Please drop off your student by the PAC and we will have staff and student leaders that will take them from there. They will get their ASB card, books, and a limited tour of the school. We need to make sure that the Class of 2023 gets a proper RHS welcome as they begin their high school journey!

Construction will continue once school begins with an expectation that all work will be completed before winter. You will notice fencing and scaffolding at the front of the school so the sidewalk will not be accessible between the front doors and the PAC doors, but students may enter both of those entrances to enter the school. In addition, only the 100 (front of the school) and the 300 parking lot (back of school) entry will be available for parking as the 200 and 400 parking lots will be closed until construction is complete.

Please let me know if you have any questions that I can answer for you as we look forward to having you return for the 2019-2020 school year.

Welcome back,

Mr. Nygren
Principal of Rim of the World High School
