David Nygren, Principal, Rim of the World High School
We had a great weekend for RHS of student and community activities last weekend. Rim Wrestling held their 53rd annual Beresford Wrestling Tournament and took 6th out of 24 teams, with a first place, one 2nd place, and four 3rd place finishing wrestlers. This was a great event for the team, was well organized, and we received a lot of positive feedback about it. Simultaneously, the Rim Marching Band was performing in the Blue Jay Parade which was well attended and received. Our students were all in synch in their uniforms even in the freezing weather conditions. That evening, the Shred Team Boosters put on a great fundraising night at the Burnt Mill Beach Club with over 200 attendees. They had burgers and a band, a silent auction with ski/snow related items, as well as a live auction, and all of the money raised shows great community support for the team. Finally, the RHS Debate Team took fourth place overall out of 100 debaters in a tournament on Sunday. Way to go, Fighting Scots!
