Hazard Assessment

  • Periodic Inspections and evaluations to identify workplace hazards are performed in our workplace.

Record Keeping

  • All training and scheduled periodic safety inspections are maintained through a written/database documentation process.

Training and Instruction

  • All employees, including managers and supervisors, are provided with training and instruction on general and job-specific safety and health practices.

Safe Schools

  • The safety of students and staff is the highest priority for Rim of the World School District. Injuries and illnesses create personal loss and hardship to employees, students, and their families, and reduce the District’s ability to provide quality education. It is the District’s position that all accidents are preventable.
  • Site administrators have primary responsibility for providing a safe working and learning environment, and are accountable for compliance with applicable health and safety requirements. All supervisory employees, from senior managers to first-line supervisors share responsibility for ensuring the safety of students and staff.
  • Every employee is expected to work safely, adhere to safety requirements, and immediately report accidents and potential workplace hazards to their supervisors.

Compliance

  • All Rim of the World School District Employees, including managers and supervisors, are responsible for complying with safe and healthful work practices.

Communication

  • All managers and supervisors are responsible for communicating occupational safety and health in a form which can be readily understood. Discussing safety concerns are part of an ongoing dialog between management and staff. Our communication system encourages all employees to inform their managers and supervisors about workplace hazards without fear of reprisals.
  • If you see a Safety Hazard, use the below-listed form and forward to James Zimmer district Safety Officer or Kerry Castillo in Risk Management.

Hazard Correction

  • When observed or discovered, unsafe or unhealthy work conditions, practices or procedures are corrected in a timely manner based on the severity of the hazards.
